Comment

In 1990 the 20 Cent coin was redesigned. The familiar Kiwi reverse was replaced with the Pukaki. 1990 was the only year that coins with the new design and old size went into circulation.

Interesting fact

The 20 cent coin featuring Elizabeth II (3rd portrait; Pukaki) from New Zealand, made of copper-nickel and weighing 11.31g, has a unique feature. It is one of the few coins in the world that has a "split-level" design, where the portrait of the queen is placed on a higher level than the rest of the coin's design. This interesting fact makes it stand out from other coins and adds to its collectibility.
