Comment
The obverse of these coins was struck using the die for the 5 centavos, KM#164.Interesting fact
The 1928 Philippine 20 Centavos coin, also known as the "Mule" coin, is a rare and unique piece due to a mistake in its minting process. Instead of featuring the usual portrait of Manuel Quezon, the first president of the Philippines, on its obverse side, it bears the image of Miguel Romero, the director of the Philippine Mint. This error was caused by a misunderstanding between the mint's staff and the engraver, and as a result, only a small number of these coins were produced before the mistake was corrected. Today, the 1928 Mule 20 Centavos coin is highly sought after by collectors and is considered a valuable piece of Philippine numismatic history.
