The 1919 Hunan Province 20 Cash coin was issued during a time of great economic turmoil in China, known as the "Great Inflation" period. The coin's value was originally set at 20 cash, but due to rampant inflation, its value decreased significantly over time. In fact, by the mid-1920s, the coin's value had dropped to less than 1% of its original value. Despite this, the coin remains a valuable collector's item today, with some mint conditions selling for thousands of dollars.
