One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the deposition of Luís Cabral, who was the first president of Guinea-Bissau after it gained independence from Portugal in 1974. Cabral was deposed in a military coup in 1980, and this coin was issued in 1990 to mark the 10th anniversary of that event.
