Reverse

Image of woman's head from the reverse of the 1932 10 Złote coins. This is superimposed on the normal reverse of this 2006 coin.

The artist (Antoni Madeyski) of the 1932 reverse, designing an idealized image of the Polish community, was inspired by Janina Żółtowska's facial features. For him, she represented perfect beauty. Due to the fact that the appearance of Janina Żółtowska reminded Madeyski of Queen Jadwiga, symbolically, many people erroneously attribute this image to the Polish Queen.

Interesting fact

The 2 Zlotys (Dzieje Złotego) 2006 coin from Poland is made of Nordic gold, which is a unique alloy that is resistant to corrosion and has a distinctive color. Nordic gold is not actually a single element, but rather a blend of 89% copper, 5% aluminum, 5% zinc, and 1% tin. This combination gives the coin a distinctive golden color that is different from the more traditional yellow gold used in many other coins.
