The Defence of Jasna Góra coin was issued to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the defense of Jasna Góra, a famous Polish monastery, against Swedish forces during the Swedish Deluge in 1655. The coin's design features an image of the monastery and a depiction of the Virgin Mary, who is said to have appeared to the defenders of the monastery during the siege, leading to their victory.
