Comment
This coin combines the obverse of KM# 941 (struck AH1295) with the reverse of KM# 942 (struck AH1296-1299) and is struck to the latere weight standard.
Sincona calls it a pattern, but it could also have been a mule.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Pattern 2 Toman - Naser ad-Din Qajar (Pattern) ND (1879-1882) from Iran is that it was designed by a French engraver named Charles Fremine, who was hired by the Iranian government to create a new currency for the country. Fremine's design features a portrait of Naser ad-Din Qajar on one side and an image of a lion on the other, symbolizing the country's strength and power. The coin was minted in gold (.900) and weighs 5.56 grams. Despite its beauty and historical significance, the coin was never widely circulated and is now considered a rare collector's item.
