Interesting fact
The 2 Skilling coin from Norway, issued during the reign of Christian V in 1686-1687, features an interesting design element - a small hole in the center of the coin. This hole was intentionally made during the minting process and was used as a way to test the coin's authenticity. The hole was created by a special tool that was used to punch a small hole in the center of the coin blank before it was struck. This feature was unique to Norwegian coins of that time and was used as a way to prevent counterfeiting.
