Comment

As the theme of Israel's 36th Anniversary of Independence, "Israel's Brotherhood" was chosen by the Bank of Israel with the aim of strengthening the awareness of brotherhood, unity and love of one's neighbor.
The theme of brotherhood appears early in the Bible with the invocation of "You shall love your neighbour as you love yourself". The Talmud refers on many occasions to the need for practising love, brotherhood, peace and friendship".
