Date of issue: 04 MAY 2000The highest distinction class "Hero City" accompanied by the awarding with the Lenin Order and the Gold Star Medal has been conferred on the city of Moscow on May 8, 1965 to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and for the mass heroism, courage and tenacity of the Moscow working people displayed in the struggle against German fascist invaders, for freedom and independence of the Motherland.
