Date of issue: 01 SEP 2009Andrey Nikiforovich Voronikhin (1759-1814) - architect, the representative of high classicism style. The erected in 1801-1811 on his projects the Kazan Cathedral in Nevsky Prospect in Petersburg and the building of Mining Collage (since 1866 - the Mining Institute) are marked by monumental and solemn features. Hi participated in creation of architectural ensembles of Pavlovsk and Peterhof, Gatchina and Strelnya. His projects are characterized by harmony of interior with architecture.
