Interesting fact
The Pattern 2 Reichspfennig was designed by German artist and engraver, Reinhard Heydrich, and features an image of a German eagle on the obverse side, while the reverse side features the denomination and the year of mintage. The coin was minted in 1937, during the Nazi regime, and was intended to be used as a pattern coin for the new German currency that was to be introduced after the war. However, due to the outbreak of World War II, the coin was never put into circulation and only a few pattern coins were minted, making it a rare and highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
