Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1892-1893 Guatemalan 2 Reales coin is that it features a unique design that reflects the country's rich cultural heritage. The obverse side of the coin depicts a portrait of the Guatemalan national hero, Jose Maria Orellana, who played a key role in the country's independence movement. The reverse side features an image of the Volcán de Fuego, an active volcano located in the western part of the country, which is surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves. This design was created by the Guatemalan artist and engraver, José María Urueta, and it has become a distinctive feature of Guatemalan coinage.
