Interesting fact

The 1995 South African 2 Rand silver coin commemorating the United Nations is a unique piece in that it features a portrait of Nelson Mandela, the former President of South Africa and a prominent figure in the fight against apartheid, on one side, and the United Nations emblem on the other. This coin was issued to celebrate South Africa's re-admittance to the United Nations in 1994, after the country's apartheid regime was dismantled.
