Comment
The first design in the Chinese Lunar Year - Shēngxiào Collection, there were several different strikes for the Year of the Horse with varying compositions and denominations which all share Wuon-Gean Ho's design. The proof and bullion issues both have plain fields but the bullion strike has an additional legend with the weight and fineness on the reverse. A mule error was also produced, see link below.
The Uffington white horse featuring on the reverse is an ancient carving in the chalk hills of Oxfordshire, U.K.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Year of the Horse 2 Pound coin is that it features a unique design that showcases the horse in a dynamic pose, with its mane and tail flowing in the wind. The design is the work of British artist and designer, Wuon-Gean Ho, who is known for her intricate and detailed designs that often feature animals and nature. The coin's design is not only visually striking, but it also symbolizes the strength, grace, and freedom associated with horses.
