Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it commemorates the 50th anniversary of Concorde, a supersonic jet that was in service from 1976 to 2003. Concorde was a joint project between British Aerospace (now BAE Systems) and Aérospatiale (now Airbus). It was capable of flying at speeds up to Mach 2.04 (1,354 mph or 2,180 km/h) and was the only commercial aircraft to have achieved supersonic flight. The coin's design features an image of Concorde in flight, along with the anniversary dates and the name of the aircraft.
