One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the royal engagement of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The coin features an image of the young couple on the obverse, and the reverse features a picture of the Queen and Prince Philip in their later years, surrounded by diamonds to represent their 60 years of marriage. The coin's design was created by the British artist and sculptor, Ian Rank-Broadley.
