As well as being for circulation, the coin was issued as part of the Annual Coin Sets for 2005, in both Brilliant Uncirculated (51,776 sales) & Proof versions, while also sold in an individual BU pack (12,044 sales) and a triple BU pack (10,822 sales) with the Johnson Dictionary 50p and Menai Bridge £1. The coin was also struck in silver proof, silver piedfort and gold proof.The coin is well known for having a weak strike on the edge lettering, meaning that the letter R can look like a P making the edge read "PEMEMBEP PEMEMBEP THE FIFTH OF NOVEMBEP"
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it commemorates the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot, a failed assassination attempt against King James I in 1605. The coin's design features a depiction of the plotters and the Houses of Parliament, where the plot was foiled.
