This type is differentiated from a later type (see link below) by the crown interrupting the legend obverse.

Philip the fair inherited the crown of Burgunday-Brabant when his mother died in 1482. As he was was less than 4 years old, his father, Maximilian of Austria, served as regent until Philip came of age in 1494. This double sol was part of a series of new denominations authorized in 1496.
