The 2 New Sheqalim (Miriam and the Women) coin from Israel, minted in 1996, features an image of Miriam, the sister of Moses, on one side, and a group of women dancing and playing musical instruments on the other side. This coin was issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel and to honor the contributions of women to Israeli society. The coin's design was created by Israeli artist and sculptor, Dvora Omer.
