Interesting fact

The 2 Maravedis coin was part of a series of coins issued during the reign of Charles III, known as the "Bourbon Reforms," which aimed to modernize the Spanish economy and currency. This coin, in particular, was designed to replace the older, irregularly-shaped coins with a more standardized and easily recognizable design. The coin features an image of Charles III on one side and the Spanish coat of arms on the other. It was made of copper and had a value of 2 maravedis, which was a significant amount at the time, equivalent to about 1/4 of a day's wage for a skilled worker. Despite its relatively low value, the coin was well-crafted and features detailed engravings, making it a popular collector's item today.
