Comment

This is an early version of the km# 55 and is also called "Slow quadriga" (where km# 55 is "Fast quadriga") to point out the difference between the two coins. The fast quadriga has a better relief and a well defined movement of the horses that makes engraving more lively and highlights all the details.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 2 Lire coin from Italy featuring Victor Emmanuel III is that it was minted during a time of significant political and social change in Italy. The coin was minted between 1908 and 1912, a period known as the "Giolitti Era" after the Prime Minister Giovanni Giolitti, who was instrumental in implementing a number of political and social reforms, including the expansion of suffrage, the establishment of a modern welfare state, and the promotion of industrialization and economic growth. The coin's design, featuring the image of Victor Emmanuel III, symbolized the monarchy's continued influence and power during this time of change.
