The obverse design is from a 1922 original picture, during the Turkish Independence War.
 Varieties exist with landscape and number of beads in laurel.

Interesting fact

The 2½ Lira coin from Turkey made of Acmonital and weighing 9g is interesting because it was the first coin to be introduced in Turkey with a decimal denomination, signifying the country's transition from the Ottoman Empire's traditional currency to a modern, decimalized system.
