Interesting fact
The Pattern 2 Kune coin from the Independent State of Croatia (Yugoslavia) was designed by the Croatian artist, Ivan Meštrović. Meštrović was a renowned sculptor and painter who was known for his work in the early 20th century. He designed the coin's obverse side, which features a stylized image of a Croatian peasant woman, wearing a traditional costume and holding a sheaf of wheat. The reverse side of the coin features the coat of arms of the Independent State of Croatia. Meštrović's design for the Pattern 2 Kune coin reflects his interest in folk art and his desire to promote Croatian culture and identity.
