Comment

This coin is the last design out of four types (as defined by Krause) of 2 kronor coins minted under the reign of Oscar II. The most striking modifications include a seventh, quite robust portrait of the king and a different motto. Norway, in a personal union with Sweden since 1814, regained its sovereignity in October 1905, hence the removal of "och Norges" in the lettering.

Interesting fact

The coin features an image of King Oscar II on the obverse side, while the reverse side features the coat of arms of Sweden. The coin was minted during a time when Sweden was still using the silver standard, which means that the coin's value was based on the weight of silver it contained. The 2 Kronor coin was a significant denomination at the time, and it was used for many transactions, including buying goods and services. Today, this coin is a valuable collector's item and is highly sought after by numismatists.
