Comment

This type is not described in KM. KM# 247 is the only listed 2½ Kreuzer listed for 1766 but that type is described as having an FC monogram on the obverse.

The "E" on the obverse is for Mintmaster Johann Christian Eberhardt.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 2½ Kreuzer coin from the Margraviate of Brandenburg-Bayreuth is that it was minted during a time of great economic and political change in Germany. The coin was issued in 1766, just a few years before the Margraviate was annexed by the Kingdom of Prussia in 1778. This annexation marked the end of the Margraviate's independence and the beginning of a new era in German history. Despite this, the 2½ Kreuzer coin remains a valuable piece of history, offering a glimpse into the economic and political climate of the time.
