The commemorative coin celebrates Paralympic Winter Games 2018 held in Pyeongchang, South Korea, on 9–18 March 2018. Ukraine’s national team was represented by 33 athletes, who won 22 medals: seven gold, seven silver, and eight bronze medals. Ukraine ended up sixth in the general rating of the games and fourth by the total number of medals earned.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that represents the Paralympic Games. The obverse side of the coin depicts a stylized image of a snowflake, while the reverse side features a representation of a wheelchair athlete in motion, surrounded by the inscription "XII Winter Paralympic Games" in Ukrainian. This design was created specifically for the coin to commemorate the Paralympic Games held in Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018.
