The commemorative coin is dedicated to the centenary of the first nonprofit professional organization of health care providers founded in Lviv, i.e. the Ukrainian Medical Association. After resumption of its activities in 1990 under the name of All-Ukrainian Medical Association it is a united national professional organization incorporating all medical practitioners of Ukraine.
