The coin is dedicated to the birth centenary of Serhii Vsekhsviatskyi (1905 - 1984), an outstanding Ukrainian astronomical scientist. As the founder of the department for astronomy in the Kyiv national university (1939), Vsekhsviatskyi played a significant role in development and popularizing of the astronomy not only in Ukraine but in the whole world during 1939 - 1984. In 1960 Serhii Vsekhsviatskyi made a presumption on the presence of a cup around the Jupiter, which was really discovered in 1979; He proved the presence of the 'solar wind', which used to cause magnetic storms and had developed a dynamic theory of the'Solar corona'.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design, showcasing a portrait of Serhiy Vsehsvyatskyi, a Ukrainian poet and writer, on one side, and a depiction of a traditional Ukrainian village on the other. The coin's design was created by Ukrainian artist, Volodymyr Demianenko.
