The coin is dedicated to a mammalian of cetacean species, a representative of the dolphin family in the fauna of Ukraine, a narrow-areal relic subspecies, the habitat of which is the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Azov Dolphin is on the endangered-species list of Ukraine and into the European Red-List.Interesting fact
The Azovka Dolphins coin features two dolphins on its obverse side, which are depicted swimming together in a circular motion. This design was chosen to represent the unity and harmony between Ukraine and the Azov Sea, which is located in the eastern part of the country and is an important source of natural resources and transportation.
