The 2 Fen denomination from Year 5 are only known by patterns, and the Year 22 pieces are only known by coins meant for circulation. The two have different styles of 'Fen', and like the 1 Fen pieces, those from Year 5 would by Type 1 pieces and those from Year 22 would be Type 2 pieces.Interesting fact
The Pattern 2 Fen coin was designed by the renowned Chinese artist, Xu Beihong, who was also a famous painter and calligrapher. He was commissioned by the Republican government to design a new currency for China, and his design was ultimately adopted as the official currency of the Republic of China in 1916. The Pattern 2 Fen coin features a striking image of a dragon on one side and the Chinese character for "fen" on the other, and it was made of copper to commemorate the fifth year of the Republic of China. This coin is highly sought after by collectors today due to its historical significance and limited mintage.
