The 2 Fen 22 (1933) coin was designed by the famous Chinese artist, Xu Beihong, who was known for his work in modern Chinese painting and coin design. Xu Beihong's design for the 2 Fen 22 coin featured a stylized portrait of Sun Yat-sen, the first president of the Republic of China, on the obverse, and a scenic view of the Yangtze River on the reverse.
