Wartburg Castle is a castle in Thuringia, located above the city of Eisenach. It was built around 1067 by Louis the Springer and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. The name means watch-, or guard castle.Interesting fact

The coin's obverse side features a stylized image of the Wartburg Castle, which is a famous landmark in Thuringia, while the reverse side features a map of the state with its cities and landmarks highlighted.
