Interesting fact
The 2 Escudos coin from Spain, minted during the reign of Philip IV (1622-1661), was known as the "Pieza de Ocho" or "Eight-Reales" coin, as it was equivalent to eight reales, the standard unit of currency at the time. It was also the first gold coin to be minted in Spain, and its design featured the king's portrait on one side and the Spanish coat of arms on the other.
