One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique tripartite design, with three separate effigies of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse side, each representing a different aspect of her reign: the young queen, the mature queen, and the elder stateswoman. This design was created by sculptor and coin designer, Ian Rank-Broadley, and was specifically commissioned for this coin.
