The Imperial Amazon (Sisserou Parrot) is the national bird of Dominica, the "Nature Isle" of the Caribbean.The EC8 Coin Program consists of coins minted on behalf of each of the eight Caribbean island members that comprise the ECCB (Eastern Caribbean Central Bank) - Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Commonwealth of Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The ECCB is the official issuer of the Eastern Caribbean Dollar the Currency of the EC8 Coin Program.

The Sisserou Parrot, featured on the 2019 Dominica $2 non-circulating coin, is the national bird of Dominica and is also known as the Imperial Amazon. It is a critically endangered species, with a population estimated to be less than 250 individuals in the wild.
