Part of 4-Coin Set : 20 Years in the Minting.

In 1996, polar bears suddenly became a prominent part of everyday life in Canada when the new two-dollar coin entered circulation to replace the two-dollar banknote. People immediately started referring to it as the toonie, a moniker that belied the coin's achievement as the latest innovation in minting that featured new technology developed by the Royal Canadian Mint. Celebrate the toonie's 20th anniversary with this remarkable four-coin set thathighlights the features that made it one of Canada's most beloved circulation coins, and also revisits design elements from the final two-dollar banknote. Each set includes one, uncut banknote sheet from the 1986 Birds of Canada series. This sheet is composed of 40 unique 'replacement' two-dollar notes, with the prefix BRX in the serial number.
