Cthulhu is a monstrous cosmic entity invented by American writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft in his short story Call of Cthulhu, published in the pulp magazine Weird Tales in 1928.A gigantic extraterrestrial creature that has lain dormant for millennia in the city of R'lyeh, sunk beneath the waves of the Pacific Ocean, Cthulhu is worshipped as a god by misguided humans and aquatic beings who have worshipped him since time immemorial through antediluvian sculptures.
