The war ended on 2 September 1945 and around a million Australian men and women served in the war, with nearly 40,000 losing their lives in the conflict. The coin features the dove of peace and colours representing the three Australian forces, Army, Air Force & Navy, that served from 1939 to 1945.

The coin is released into circulation & rolls without a Mintmark and in a collector Coincard with a "C" Mintmark.
