This coin was issued as PROOF in 2002 and as specimen quality in 2003. This design was NOT used in 2004.The mint mark "P" was used only on the Proof coins of this design.
The 2003 coins used for the Australians at War Series have a colour privy mark of a service medal and ribbon awarded to personnel who served in these conflicts. Each set comprised of a 2 oz coin, a 1 oz silver medallion depicting personnel and fighting equipment of that era, and a replica miniature service medal.

The 2002-2004 Australian Kookaburra 2 Dollar silver coin features a unique reverse design, showcasing a Kookaburra perched on a tree branch, surrounded by leaves and a crescent moon. This design was created by renowned Australian artist, Stuart Devlin.
