Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1834-1839 United States Quarter Eagle coin is that it was designed by Christian Gobrecht, who was the Chief Engraver of the United States Mint at the time. Gobrecht's design features a classic head of Lady Liberty on the obverse (front) side of the coin, and an eagle on the reverse (back) side. The coin was minted without a motto on the reverse, which was a departure from previous designs that had featured the motto "E Pluribus Unum" (Latin for "Out of many, one"). This design change was a result of a decision by the Mint to return to the earlier design that had been used before the introduction of the motto.
