Interesting fact
The Pattern 2 Dollar coin was designed by New Zealand artist and sculptor, Robert Connolly. Connolly's design features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse (front side) of the coin, while the reverse (back side) features a stylized image of a kiwi, New Zealand's national symbol. The use of aluminum brass in the coin's composition gives it a unique golden color that sets it apart from other coins in the New Zealand currency.
