*The Kingdom of Yugoslavia had coins with a crown over the Heraldic eagle. The removal of the crown signified that King Peter II Karađorđević (1934-1945) became a puppet king under Nazi Germany during its occupation between 1941-1945.

Interesting fact

The 2 Dinara 1942 coin was minted during World War II, when Serbia was under German occupation. The coin features a unique design, with a portrait of King Peter II of Yugoslavia on one side and the coat of arms of Serbia on the other. Despite being made of zinc, which is a relatively inexpensive metal, the coin was still subject to counterfeiting, and the government issued a decree in 1943 warning people about the circulation of fake coins. Today, the 2 Dinara 1942 coin is considered a rare and valuable collector's item, with some mint-condition coins selling for thousands of dollars.
