While Vardanyan only knew of silver examples of this type, he assigned them to the Sallarid ruler named Wahsudan b. Muhammad, rather than to the less historically well-known Kangarid ruler of the same name.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an intricate design on its reverse side, including an inscription in Arabic that translates to "Muhammad is the Messenger of God" and a depiction of the Persian king, Wahsudan b. Muhammad, seated on a throne. This coin is a rare example of Islamic coinage from the Kangarid dynasty, which was a short-lived but significant empire that ruled over much of Greater Iran in the 10th century.
