Interesting fact
The 2 Centavos "Zapata Issue" (reduced weight) 1915 coin from Mexico is interesting because it was minted during a time of political and social upheaval in the country. The coin features the image of Emiliano Zapata, a prominent leader of the Mexican Revolution, who fought for land reform and greater rights for peasants. The coin's design was meant to symbolize the revolutionary ideals of freedom, equality, and justice. Additionally, the coin's reduced weight was a result of a decision by the Mexican government to reduce the weight of its coins to save on metal costs during a time of economic hardship.
