Comment

The Slender Gold script was the personal calligraphy style of the Emperor.

In 1107, it was said that the enemy was melting iron cash coins and turning them into weapons. In response, some iron coins were made with high contents of tin.

Interesting fact

The Daguan Tongbao coin, which was issued during the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127 AD), was the first coin in Chinese history to feature a square hole in the center. This unique design was meant to make the coin easier to thread onto a string, allowing people to carry multiple coins together more conveniently.
