Comment

The coins struck at Åbo, nowadays the city of Turku, were some of the first coins struck in Finland. With Finland being part of the Swedish Kingdom, the coins were most likely meant to circulate within the entire kingdom; however, there has been some disputes saying these coins were actually local issues of Turku. Even so, more evidence in needed to support that claim.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during a time of great economic turmoil in Sweden, known as the "Klipping" era, where the government was forced to debase the currency to pay for military expenses, leading to a period of high inflation and economic instability. Despite this, the coin still maintains a high level of historical and numismatic value, making it a sought-after collector's item.
