Interesting fact
The Krugerrand coin was first introduced in 1967 and was the first gold coin to be produced in a one-ounce denomination. It was created as a way to market South African gold and to promote the country's gold mining industry. The coin was named after Paul Kruger, a former president of the South African Republic, and features his image on the obverse side. The reverse side of the coin features a springbok, a type of antelope that is native to South Africa. The Krugerrand coin has become a popular collector's item and is considered to be one of the most recognizable gold coins in the world.
