Restelli/Sammut 43Interesting fact
The 15 Tarì coin was minted during the reign of Grand Master Emmanuel de Rohan, who was the 74th Grand Master of the Order of Saint John (also known as the Knights Hospitaller) and ruled Malta from 1775 to 1797. This coin was part of a series of coins minted during his reign, which featured the Grand Master's name and image on one side and the coat of arms of the Order of Saint John on the other. The 15 Tarì coin was the highest denomination coin minted during this period and was equivalent to 15 Maltese tarì, which was a local currency used in Malta at the time.
