This piedfort is a sample for the definitive issue KM# 212 issued 1988-1990.Being piedfort, was minted on a doubled width planchet, using the same dies as on the final issue; therefore, the weight engraved does not match the real one.
Both on Krause and Aledon catalogues were given different #s for each variant and year; being all for the same KM# we posted them all together in this page.

The Pattern 15 Pesos (Homeland and Freedom; Piedfort) 1988-1990 from Cuba made of Gold (.999) weighing 7.7 g is a rare and valuable coin, with only 500 pieces minted. It features the national emblem of Cuba, the "Coat of Arms of the Republic of Cuba" on one side and the image of a woman representing the allegory of Homeland and Freedom on the other. The coin's design was created by Cuban artist and engraver, José Luis Vega.
